IIM Ahmedabad Shifts Dubai MBA Batch to India Amid West Asia Conflict

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has shifted its Dubai-based MBA batch to India amid the ongoing West Asia conflict involving Israel, Iran, and regional tensions. The institute has moved all 35 students to its Ahmedabad campus to ensure academic continuity.

IIMA Dubai MBA Students Relocated to Ahmedabad Campus

The affected students were enrolled in the one-year MBA programme launched in September 2025 at the Dubai campus. At the time of the conflict escalation, they were in Spain for an internship. Instead of returning to Dubai, the institute decided to relocate them directly to Ahmedabad. This move was taken as a precautionary measure due to rising tensions in the Middle East.

Classes to Continue Without Academic Disruption

At the Ahmedabad campus, students will continue their coursework through in-person classes. The institute has ensured that the academic schedule remains uninterrupted. Officials indicated that the arrangement is temporary. Students will continue studying in India until the situation in Dubai stabilises.

IIMA Dubai Campus Background and Launch Details

The Dubai campus of IIMA was inaugurated in September 2025 by Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The overseas campus marked a major step in expanding IIMA’s global presence. It aims to provide management education opportunities across the Middle East and promote academic collaboration.

Impact of West Asia Conflict on Education Mobility

The relocation highlights the impact of geopolitical tensions on international education. Institutions are increasingly taking precautionary steps to ensure student safety and academic continuity. The decision by IIMA reflects a broader trend where universities prioritise uninterrupted learning while responding to global uncertainties.
