The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has introduced a research methodology textbook for postgraduate and PhD Ayurveda scholars. The council also launched the PRAYATNA 2026–27 initiative and a Digital Ecosystem Dashboard to strengthen research, academic collaboration and evidence-based learning in Ayurveda.
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has introduced a comprehensive Research Methodology Textbook designed for postgraduate and PhD scholars pursuing Ayurveda. The publication has been developed under the Ayurved Prabodhini Granthamala series with the objective of promoting scientific research practices and strengthening evidence-based education in the field of Ayurveda. The textbook has been prepared in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). It is expected to serve as a structured academic resource for scholars, researchers and faculty members engaged in postgraduate education and doctoral research across Ayurveda institutions in India.
CCRAS Research Methodology Textbook Aligned With NCISM Curriculum
The newly launched textbook focuses on developing a systematic understanding of research methodology among Ayurveda scholars. It covers the essential principles of scientific investigation, research design, data collection, statistical analysis, ethics in research and scientific documentation. The publication aims to improve the quality of postgraduate dissertations and doctoral research by encouraging scholars to adopt internationally accepted research standards while preserving the principles of traditional Ayurvedic knowledge. By aligning the content with the NCISM curriculum, CCRAS seeks to provide uniform academic guidance to institutions offering postgraduate and doctoral programmes in Ayurveda.
PRAYATNA 2026–27 Initiative to Strengthen Ayurveda Research
Alongside the textbook launch, CCRAS unveiled the PRAYATNA 2026–27 initiative to promote research capacity, academic innovation and collaborative projects in the field of Ayurveda. The initiative is expected to support researchers through structured mentorship, institutional collaboration and enhanced research opportunities. It also aims to encourage high-quality publications and facilitate greater participation in interdisciplinary healthcare research. Officials stated that the programme forms part of broader efforts to strengthen evidence-based practices and expand the scientific foundation of traditional Indian medicine.
Digital Ecosystem Dashboard Introduced for Researchers
CCRAS also launched a Digital Ecosystem Dashboard to improve access to research resources and digital academic services. The platform is intended to bring together multiple research-related tools and information through a single interface. The dashboard is expected to assist scholars, faculty members and research institutions by providing streamlined access to publications, research databases, project information and other academic resources. The digital initiative is designed to enhance collaboration and improve the efficiency of research activities across CCRAS institutions.
Initiative Supports Evidence-Based Ayurveda Education
The introduction of the research methodology textbook, PRAYATNA 2026–27 and the Digital Ecosystem Dashboard reflects CCRAS's continued emphasis on strengthening research-oriented education in Ayurveda. These initiatives are expected to improve research quality, encourage scientific writing and enhance academic standards for postgraduate and PhD scholars. By integrating modern research practices with traditional Ayurvedic knowledge, CCRAS aims to create a stronger ecosystem for evidence-based education and innovation while supporting the long-term growth of Ayurveda research in India.
