IIM Ahmedabad conducted its 61st convocation ceremony, awarding degrees to 629 students across various programmes. The event marked the successful completion of academic programmes for MBA, executive and doctoral candidates.

 

IIM Ahmedabad 61st Convocation 2026 Key Highlights

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) organised its annual convocation with participation from faculty, leadership, and graduating students. A total of 629 students received degrees during the ceremony. The distribution of degrees across programmes is as follows:

  • 20 students from the Doctoral Programme
  • 408 students from the Post Graduate Programme (MBA)
  • 45 students from the Food and Agribusiness Management (FABM) programme
  • 156 students from the one-year MBA (PGPX)

The convocation highlighted the academic achievements of students across diverse management disciplines.

 

Chief Guest and Convocation Address Highlights

The ceremony featured distinguished guests and institute leadership. The chief guest for the event was Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon, an alumna of the institute and noted business leader and philanthropist. During the address, emphasis was laid on the concept of “integrative intelligence,” which includes insight, intention, inner stillness, and impact. Graduates were encouraged to define their own success and maintain resilience in professional journeys. The institute leadership also advised students to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and remain adaptable in evolving global environments.

 

Programmes Covered Under IIMA Convocation

The convocation covered multiple flagship programmes offered by IIM Ahmedabad. These programmes are designed to cater to different academic and professional levels. The key programmes include:

  • Two-year MBA (PGP) programme
  • One-year Executive MBA (PGPX)
  • MBA-FABM for agribusiness management
  • Doctoral Programme in Management (PhD equivalent)

These programmes continue to attract candidates from across India and internationally for management education.
