IIM Ahmedabad Summer Placements 2026: Cluster 1 Offers Over 85 Roles to PGP Class of 2028

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) has concluded Cluster 1 of its PGP Summer Placement Process for the 2026-28 batch, with recruiters offering more than 85 roles. The placement cluster was held on October 23, 2026, and included opportunities across consulting, investment banking, financial advisory, private equity and operations. According to the institute's official announcement, the recruitment process was conducted in a hybrid format, with recruiters participating online and in person.

The first cluster brought together recruiters across six professional cohorts. The process offered students opportunities in consulting, financial services and investment management, including international roles.

Which Companies Participated in Cluster 1?

Several prominent consulting and financial services firms participated in the first placement cluster. The management consulting cohort included McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Accenture Strategy, EY-Parthenon, Kearney, Oliver Wyman and L.E.K. Consulting.

The investment banking and markets cohort featured Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Barclays, Citibank, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank. Private equity and investment management firms included Blackstone, Ares Management, Gaja Capital, Multiples Alternate Asset Management and Aquilon Capital.

American Express, Cranmore Partners and Synergy Consulting also participated in the cards and financial advisory cohort. The recruiter mix provided opportunities across multiple career tracks rather than concentrating exclusively on consulting.

Six Cohorts Covered in the Placement Process

IIM Ahmedabad organised Cluster 1 around six recruitment cohorts. These groups covered different functions and role profiles, helping structure the placement process across sectors.

International Opportunities at IIM Ahmedabad

The first cluster also included international opportunities. EY-Parthenon offered roles associated with Singapore, while Goldman Sachs and HSBC featured opportunities linked to Hong Kong.

These international roles expanded the range of opportunities available during the summer placement process. However, IIM Ahmedabad's announcement did not provide a complete role-wise salary breakdown or disclose a specific highest stipend for Cluster 1.

When Will IIM Ahmedabad Conduct Clusters 2 and 3?

IIM Ahmedabad has scheduled Cluster 2 for October 27 and Cluster 3 for October 30, 2026. These stages will continue the summer recruitment process for the PGP Class of 2028.

The institute has not disclosed the final consolidated outcome for all three clusters in the Cluster 1 announcement. Recruiter participation and role counts from the first cluster should therefore not be treated as the final summer placement figures for the entire batch.
