The Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has extended the application deadline for its two-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme to 8 February 2026. This extension gives aspiring management students additional time to submit applications for the 2026-28 batch via the official admissions portal. Earlier, the last date to apply was 31 January 2026, but the institute has moved the deadline to accommodate more applicants, including recent graduates as well as experienced professionals.
Eligibility and Admissions Criteria
To be eligible for IIT Madras MBA 2026 admissions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational qualification: A recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline with at least 60 per cent marks (55 per cent for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
- Entrance scores: Indian nationals must submit a valid CAT 2025 score, while foreign nationals must provide a valid GMAT score.
- Final-year students: Candidates in the final year of graduation can apply provisionally, provided they complete degree requirements by 30 September 2026.
- Sponsored candidates: Applicants with at least two years’ work experience in the same organisation may apply under the sponsored category.

Shortlisted candidates are slated to participate in a personal interview round held across various cities in March 2026. Locations and tentative dates include:

Selection Timeline and Program Commencement
After interview rounds, the final admission results for the MBA 2026 batch are expected to be declared in May 2026. Following results, successful candidates will attend orientation, registration and pre-term classes in July 2026, with regular classes commencing soon after.

The IIT Madras MBA curriculum is structured across seven quarters and blends core management fundamentals with electives and practical learning in areas such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Information Systems and Integrative Management.
