IIT Madras Web M.Tech 2026 Applications Open, Apply by May 31

IIT Madras Web MTech 2026 applications have started for candidates seeking admission to the institute’s Web-Enabled MTech and Postgraduate Diploma programmes. The programmes are designed for working professionals as well as fresh graduates looking for flexible postgraduate education opportunities. Eligible candidates can complete the online application process through the official portal before May 31, 2026.

IIT Madras Web MTech 2026 Application Date and Admission Process

Before applying for the programmes, candidates must check the eligibility criteria and admission schedule released by the institute. The entrance examinations for the programmes are scheduled to be conducted during June and July 2026. Selected candidates are expected to begin academic sessions in August or September 2026.

For admission to the Web-Enabled MTech programmes, applicants must hold a relevant educational qualification along with at least two years of work experience. Meanwhile, the PG Diploma programmes are open to graduates, including freshers, preferably from related academic backgrounds. Candidates can apply online through the official website at code.iitm.ac.in/webmtech.

IIT Madras Web MTech Programme Features and Evaluation Pattern

Before starting the academic session, learners will undergo assessments through different evaluation methods designed for flexible online learning. The Web-Enabled MTech programme includes assignments, continuous assessments and remote-proctored examinations. However, end-semester examinations will be conducted at designated centres across India.

At present, nearly 1,200 learners are enrolled in the Web MTech programmes, while more than 500 candidates have already completed their MTech degrees from IIT Madras alongside their professional careers.

Highlighting the programme structure, Prof. Prathap Haridoss, Dean (Academic Courses), IIT Madras, stated that the courses focus strongly on project-based learning and encourage learners to work on practical industry-related challenges connected to their workplaces.
