The OOBT programme was launched in June 2022 as a non-traditional mathematics learning initiative. According to the organisers, more than 3.19 lakh learners have participated in the programme so far. Speaking during a recent event celebrating four years of the programme, V Kamakoti said the initiative encourages students to think differently and solve challenges creatively. According to the institute, the programme has shown positive impact in improving learner engagement with mathematics and problem-solving methods.
MJ Shankar Raman stated that the programme was created to reach learners across diverse backgrounds and generate meaningful educational impact. He added that growing participation over the years reflects the programme’s increasing relevance.
IIT Madras OOBT Award Ceremony and Accessibility
Earlier this year, the foundation organised the OOBT 2025 certificate award ceremony on April 15, 2026 at IIT Madras. Before the event concluded, top performers were awarded cash prizes and certificates for their achievements.
