IIT Madras Pravartak OOBT 2026 Registration Begins Online

Indian Institute of Technology Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has opened registrations for the Out Of The Box Thinking (OOBT) 2026 programme. The free online course aims to improve logical reasoning, analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills among learners. Registrations for the programme started on May 04, 2026, and interested candidates can apply till July 31, 2026. The initiative is open to school students, college students, graduates and working professionals across India.

IIT Madras Pravartak OOBT 2026 Registration and Course Details

The OOBT programme was launched in June 2022 as a non-traditional mathematics learning initiative. According to the organisers, more than 3.19 lakh learners have participated in the programme so far. Before applying, candidates should understand that the course is completely online and structured across multiple learning levels.

The programme has been designed to make mathematical learning more practical, creative and application-oriented instead of focusing on rote memorisation.

IIT Madras Officials on OOBT Programme Growth

Speaking during a recent event celebrating four years of the programme, V Kamakoti said the initiative encourages students to think differently and solve challenges creatively. According to the institute, the programme has shown positive impact in improving learner engagement with mathematics and problem-solving methods.

MJ Shankar Raman stated that the programme was created to reach learners across diverse backgrounds and generate meaningful educational impact. He added that growing participation over the years reflects the programme’s increasing relevance.

IIT Madras OOBT Award Ceremony and Accessibility

Earlier this year, the foundation organised the OOBT 2025 certificate award ceremony on April 15, 2026 at IIT Madras. Before the event concluded, top performers were awarded cash prizes and certificates for their achievements.

The organisers stated that the programme remains accessible for learners from both urban and rural regions. It also supports teachers, researchers and professionals seeking to improve analytical and independent thinking skills.

The initiative continues to promote curiosity, innovation and mathematics-driven learning through flexible online education.
