MHT CET 2026 Session 2 Important Highlights
This year marks the first time the Maharashtra CET Cell is conducting MHT CET in two separate sessions. The final merit ranking will consider the best percentile score obtained across Session 1 and Session 2.
Officials stated that appearing in Session 2 does not create any disadvantage for candidates who already attempted Session 1. More than 11,000 students reportedly skipped the first session and are relying completely on the ongoing second attempt. The MHT CET exam contains 150 questions and does not include negative marking. Experts advised candidates to attempt all questions carefully to maximise scores.
Is MHT CET Difficult than JEE Main?
Students appearing for the examination have started comparing the difficulty level of MHT CET with JEE Main. According to subject experts, JEE Main remains more concept-intensive, while MHT CET focuses heavily on speed, formula application, and time management.
Many candidates reported that the Mathematics section in MHT CET feels lengthy despite direct formula-based questions. The syllabus mainly follows the Maharashtra State Board Class 12 curriculum. Candidates are now awaiting the Session 2 paper analysis and memory-based question reviews expected later on May 12, 2026.
