The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) closed the NEET PG 2026 selective edit window on August 10. Candidates should now watch for the city intimation slip, expected August 11, as the exam date approaches.
What Just Closed, and What's Next
NBEMS opened a selective edit window on July 31, allowing candidates to correct only flagged images — photograph, signature, and left thumb impression — through the Image Scrutiny tab on natboard.edu.in. No other application details could be modified during this window, which closed on August 10.
With that window shut, the next milestone is the city intimation slip, which NBEMS is expected to release on August 11. This tells candidates which city they will sit the exam in, ahead of the admit card itself.
NEET PG 2026: Confirmed Schedule
| Event | Date |
| Registration deadline | July 21, 2026 |
| Selective edit window (images only) | July 31–August 10, 2026 |
| City intimation slip | August 11, 2026 |
| Admit card release | August 27, 2026 |
| Exam date | August 30, 2026 |
| Result | By September 30, 2026 |
City allocation is not first-come-first-served; NBEMS has described a computerised process in which candidates are arranged in a randomised sequence before allotment considers their preferences.
What This Means for Candidates
Candidates who missed correcting a flagged image before the August 10 deadline should check their application status directly on natboard.edu.in, since NBEMS has said uncorrected deficient images may lead to application rejection. Everyone else should now shift focus to checking for the city intimation slip on August 11 and confirming their allotted exam city before the admit card stage.
What Candidates Should Do Next
Keep login credentials for natboard.edu.in ready, check the portal on August 11 for the city intimation slip, and avoid relying on unofficial schedules for exact release times. With the exam three weeks away on August 30, candidates should also begin finalising travel and stay arrangements once their exam city is confirmed.
