Maharashtra's State Common Entrance Test Cell has extended the Round 1 option form deadline for both 3-year and 5-year LLB admissions from August 9 to August 11, after adding 98 new colleges to the participating list in the days before the original deadline.
Why the Deadline Was Extended
The CET Cell said the extension was needed because some colleges were still in the process of securing the approvals and affiliations required to take part in the admission process. Rather than finalise Round 1 preferences before these colleges were confirmed, the Cell pushed the option-form deadline back by two days, to August 11.
How Many Colleges Were Added
Since August 5, the participating college list has grown substantially:
| Programme | Colleges as of Aug 5 | Colleges Added | Colleges Now |
| 3-year LLB | 93 | 53 | 146 |
| 5-year LLB | 56 | 45 | 101 |
| Combined | 149 | 98 | 247 |
What This Means for Candidates
Candidates who filled their Round 1 option form before this extension was announced should log back in and review the updated college list, since 98 additional colleges — across both the 3-year and 5-year LLB programmes — are now available that were not there before. Preferences already submitted are not necessarily final; candidates should check whether they want to add any of the newly approved colleges to their list before the new deadline.
What Candidates Should Do Next
Visit the official CET Cell portal, review the full updated list of 247 participating colleges, and submit or revise Round 1 option form preferences before August 11. Given that this deadline has already moved once, candidates should check cetcell.mahacet.org directly rather than assuming no further changes will follow.
