IIT Kanpur Launches Bachelor of Cybersecurity Degree Admission Open For 2026 Session

The IIT Kanpur Bachelor of Cybersecurity undergraduate degree has been officially launched for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur announced this special program to train young students as digital security experts. Classes for the first batch of this brand-new course will begin in July 2026. Interestingly, students do not need to qualify for the highly difficult JEE Advanced exam to secure a seat in this program. Instead, the institute will select candidates through a unique process that tests actual coding and hacking skills. Along with the test scores, the department will also look for evidence of prior practical work in the field of cybersecurity, such as finding bugs or working on security tools. After this first screening round, shortlisted students must visit the campus for an in-person assessment. This physical test will include a competitive hackathon where students have to solve live cyber challenges. This method allows talented ethical hackers, who might not get top ranks in traditional written exams, to study at a premier institute.
