UCEED Cut Off 2026 Expected Today: Category-wise Marks, IIT Ranks

UCEED Cut Off 2026 for Part A is expected to be released today, 05 February 2026, by IIT Bombay on the official website uceed.iitb.ac.in. The cutoff will be announced for candidates who appeared in the UCEED 2026 entrance exam conducted on 18 January 2026 for admission to Bachelor of Design programmes.The cutoff marks will be published in PDF format and can be downloaded without using any login credentials. Based on previous trends, the cutoff is likely to be released around 5 PM.

UCEED 2026 Expected Cutoff Marks (Category-wise)

Before checking the expected marks, candidates should note that the final cutoff depends on factors such as the number of test-takers, exam difficulty level and available seats. The cutoff is calculated using a statistical formula prescribed by IIT Bombay.

Based on trends and expert analysis, the expected UCEED 2026 Part A cutoff marks are given below:

  • General (OPEN): 55–60 marks
  • OBC-NCL / EWS: 48–56 marks
  • SC / ST: 30–35 marks
  • PwD: Around 30 marks

For reference, the UCEED 2025 Part A cutoff was 74.35 for General and 66.92 for OBC-NCL, indicating a relatively tougher cutoff last year.

How IIT Bombay Calculates UCEED Part A Cutoff?

The cutoff for Part A is determined using a standard formula notified by IIT Bombay. The cutoff score (δ) is calculated as:

δ = μ + (σ / 2)

Here, μ represents the average marks of all candidates and σ denotes the standard deviation of marks obtained in Part A. All values are rounded off to two decimal places. This formula ensures fair shortlisting based on overall performance distribution.

Minimum Score Required for IIT BDes Admission

Candidates aiming for admission to top IITs should target a total score between 125 and 150+ marks. A score of 200+ significantly improves chances of securing seats at premier institutes such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Guwahati. In terms of rank, General category candidates usually need an All India Rank below 15–20 for top IITs, while reserved category cutoffs are comparatively relaxed.

What Happens After UCEED Cutoff 2026?

Once the cutoff is released, IIT Bombay will declare the UCEED 2026 result on 06 March 2026. Qualified candidates will be assigned a Common Merit Rank (AIR). These candidates will then be eligible to participate in UCEED 2026 counselling, which is scheduled to begin from 21 April 2026 (Round 1). Admission to BDes programmes at participating IITs will be based on merit rank, preferences and seat availability. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UCEED website for the cutoff PDF and further admission-related announcements.
