The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala has officially published the first phase of seat allocations for engineering programmes. Candidates who received a seat must pay their initial admission fees online to confirm their choices before the approaching deadline. Failure to deposit the required fee by the closing date will lead to the cancellation of the allotted seat and higher-order choices.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala has officially announced the KEAM 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment results for students looking to join engineering colleges across the state. Candidates who took part in the first round of option entry can now check their results by visiting the official website. All students who have been successfully assigned a seat must make their admission fee payment online on or before July 12, 2026, to keep their seat safe.
KEAM 2026 Phase 1 Allotment Schedule
The entrance exam authority manages the complete seat booking process through a system called the Centralised Allotment Process. This system collects options from students and checks their ranks before assigning the best possible college and course to them automatically.
Students can refer to the schedule below to understand the crucial timelines for the first round of engineering counselling. This table shows all the important dates from the release of the rank list to the absolute last date for the online payment of fees.

How to Check KEAM Phase 1 Allotment 2026?
Students who are trying to see which engineering college they have been assigned can find their results by logging into their accounts. The exam authority has activated a specific link inside the personal student panel where the official allotment memo can be viewed easily.
The process of finding your allocated college requires entering specific login codes that were generated during the initial registration process. Candidates should follow these specific sequential instructions very carefully to download their documents and view their results.
- Visit the official web portal: Good internet connection. Open your web browser and go directly to the official internet address of the entrance exam authority at cee.kerala.gov.in.
- Open the candidate portal: Keep application number ready. Look for the active link named KEAM 2026 Candidate Portal on the homepage and click on it to access the secure login box.
- Enter your secret login credentials: Enter password accurately. Type your unique application number, your secret password, and the safety access code displayed on the screen into the correct boxes.
- Access the selection dashboard: Check details match. Click on the submit button to open your student dashboard and locate the tab marked First Phase Allotment Result.
- Download the official allotment memo: Print for physical records. View the name of your allocated engineering college and course, then click on the download button to get your personal allotment memo.
KEAM Counselling 2026: Online Fee Payment Instructions
Every single student who has successfully achieved a seat in the KEAM 2026 Phase 1 seat allotment must pay the required tuition fees. The official transaction gateway will accept payments through digital systems like internet banking, debit cards, credit cards, or Unified Payments Interface from the morning of July 09, 2026.
The total amount of money that needs to be sent is listed directly inside your downloaded memo document. The exam authority has set up specific cost patterns based on the type of college and the background category of the student as described below.
- Token Fee for Most Candidates: Students matching the general list need to make a token payment of INR 8,000 online to confirm their acceptance.
- Government Engineering Colleges Caution Deposit: Candidates who got seats in government colleges managed by the Directorate of Technical Education have to pay an extra caution deposit of INR 1,000.
- Exemptions for Special Categories: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Eligible Communities are completely exempt from paying this government caution deposit.
- Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme Benefit: Students who received a seat allocation under the special fee waiver plan only need to pay a tiny token fee of INR 500 to secure their seat.
KEAM Counselling 2026: Rules Regarding Seat Retention and Higher Option Management
A very critical rule of the KEAM counselling process states that physical reporting is not necessary at this early stage. Students do not need to pack their bags and travel to the engineering campuses yet, as all initial rounds are fully managed on the web screen.
However, if a student decides to ignore the fee submission, they will lose everything they have earned so far. Below is an overview of the strict system guidelines regarding seat retention, higher options, and future rounds.
- Automatic Forfeiture of Rights: If a student does not transfer the money by July 12, 2026, at 04:00 PM, their current seat is deleted instantly.
- Loss of Higher-Order Choices: Missing the payment deadline also removes all the higher college preferences that the student typed into their application form choices earlier.
- Retaining Seats While Upgrading: If a student likes their current seat but still wants to try for a better college in the next list, they must pay the fee first. This action holds the current seat safely while keeping them active for subsequent rounds.
- Preparation for Next Stage: The office of the commissioner will soon announce the dates for the second round of choice editing and fresh options after counting the empty seats left over from this round.
