IIT Roorkee has informed JEE Advanced 2026 candidates that those currently below the prescribed Class 12 eligibility marks can still participate in JoSAA 2026 counselling. Such candidates must submit a revised marksheet meeting the required percentage criteria by July 15, 2026, for admission confirmation after seat allotment.
JoSAA 2026 Counselling can be attended by certain JEE Advanced 2026 qualified candidates even if they currently do not meet the prescribed Class 12 eligibility percentage, according to a clarification issued by IIT Roorkee, the organising institute of JEE Advanced 2026.
The institute stated that eligible candidates may continue with choice filling and seat allocation during the counselling process. However, admission will be confirmed only after submission of a revised marksheet meeting the required eligibility conditions.

Eligible candidates will receive admission to the seat allotted to them at the end of the fourth round of JoSAA 2026 counselling.

JoSAA 2026 Official Clarification Awaited
As of June 06, 2026, no separate notification regarding this relaxation has been published on the official JoSAA 2026 portal.
It is also not yet clear whether this provision applies only to admissions coordinated through IIT Roorkee's clarification or to all institutions participating in JoSAA counselling. Candidates awaiting revised board examination results are advised to closely monitor official announcements and ensure compliance with the July 15 deadline.
