How to Complete JoSAA 2026 Round 1 Online Reporting Right Now?
- Go to josaa.admissions.nic.in and log in using your JEE Main Application Number or JEE Advanced Roll Number and password.
- Open your Round 1 Allotment Letter — verify the institute name and programme allotted to you.
- Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee online — ₹35,000 for General/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates, ₹15,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. This amount is later adjusted against your first-semester tuition fees.
- Upload all required documents: Class 10 certificate (date of birth proof), Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate, JEE Main or Advanced scorecard, category certificate if applicable (OBC-NCL/EWS must be issued after April 1, 2026), PwD certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate in Annexure 7 format if applicable.
- Select your willingness option — Freeze, Float, or Slide. All three options require fee payment and document upload to be valid. Do not just select an option and exit.

Freeze, Float, or Slide — What Should You Choose?
This decision matters more than most candidates realise. Here is what each option actually means for you: Choose Freeze if the allotted institute and branch is your top preference or you are satisfied with it. Freeze removes you from all future rounds — your seat is locked and safe. Choose Float if you want to keep the current seat as a safety net but are hoping for an upgrade to a better institute or branch in Rounds 2–5. If an upgrade happens, you move up. If not, your current seat stays. Choose Slide if you love the allotted institute but want a better branch within it. You stay at the same college, but the system tries to move you to a higher-preference programme in future rounds.
