JoSAA Counselling 2026 Registration Begins, Choice Filling Open Till June 11 as the Joint Seat Allocation Authority has activated the online registration and choice filling process. Candidates with JEE Main 2026 and JEE Advanced 2026 ranks can now participate in the admission process through the official counselling portal. The counselling process is completely online and will remain open until June 11, 2026, 5 PM. This year, 138 participating institutes are offering a total of 67,323 seats.

How to register for JoSAA Counselling 2026 Process?

The counselling process involves registration, login authentication and choice filling. Candidates can follow the steps below to complete JoSAA registration 2026:

1. Select the New Candidate Registration option
2. Enter JEE Main 2026 application number, date of birth, mother’s name and candidate name
3. Verify OTP sent to the registered mobile number and email ID
4. Create a JoSAA password and login
5. Verify details and confirm registration
6. Begin choice filling after OTP verification
7. Add institute and programme choices in order of preference
8. Lock choices before June 11, 2026

Locking choices is mandatory. If candidates fail to lock their options, the last saved choices will be auto-locked for seat allotment.

IIT Admission Eligibility and Freeze Float Slide Options in JoSAA 2026

Candidates seeking IIT admission 2026 must hold a valid JEE Advanced 2026 rank and satisfy Class 12 eligibility conditions. For BE and BTech admissions, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory subjects.

Candidates must secure 75% aggregate marks, while SC, ST and PwD candidates require 65% marks, or meet the category-wise top 20 percentile condition. After seat allotment, candidates may select:

• Freeze – Accept allotted seat and exit further rounds
• Float – Accept seat and remain eligible for better institute options
• Slide – Seek better programme options within the same institute
