JoSAA Counselling Registration 2026 (Open) LIVE: Complete Choice Filling by June 11

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) officially opened the online registration and choice-filling portal on June 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Eligible candidates with a valid JEE Main 2026 or JEE Advanced 2026 rank must log in to the official website (josaa.nic.in) to lock in their preferences. The absolute final deadline to complete registration and choices is June 11, 2026, by 5:00 PM, after which the system will auto-lock your selections.

To help students understand their admission probability based on their rank and preferred list, JoSAA will release two distinct mock allocations. These simulation lists give candidates a valuable window to modify and reorder their preferences strategically before the final locking date.

• Mock Round 1 Allocation: June 8, 2026 (At 2:00 PM)

• Mock Round 2 Allocation: June 10, 2026 (At 1:00 PM)

This year, the counselling process will safely allocate over 62,000 engineering seats distributed across 138 premium institutes, which include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and diverse GFTIs. To streamline operations and minimize seat vacancies, JoSAA 2026 will be conducted in 5 rounds instead of the traditional 6 rounds. The Round 1 final seat allotment results will be declared officially on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Candidates securing seats through the NIT+ System must submit specific academic and identity documents during the reporting stage. Proper documentation is mandatory for seat confirmation. Any discrepancy may lead to delays in admission.

Several IITs and IISc have announced Open House 2026 sessions to help aspirants understand academic programs, campus life, placements, and admission opportunities. These sessions will be conducted in online, offline, or hybrid modes. Interested candidates can participate according to the schedule released by each institute.

Candidates can use these open house sessions to interact with faculty members, understand branch options, and make informed choices during JoSAA 2026 choice filling.

Students allotted seats in IITs through JoSAA Counselling 2026 must upload and verify the required documents during online reporting. The documents help establish eligibility, category status, and personal details. Candidates should keep scanned copies ready before the reporting process begins.

Required Documents for IIT Admission

• Class 10 certificate, Aadhaar card, or birth certificate for age verification
• Class 12 marksheet of the qualifying examination
• Reserved category certificate, wherever applicable
• PwD certificate issued by the competent authority, if applicable
• Scribe-related disability certificate, if applicable
• Bank account proof such as cancelled cheque or passbook copy
• Medical fitness certificate
• OCI/PIO document, if applicable
• Passport or citizenship proof for eligible candidates

Candidates participating in JoSAA Counselling 2026 can complete registration and choice filling from June 2 to June 11, 2026. The counselling process includes two mock seat allotments followed by five rounds of seat allocation. The final round for IIT and IISc admissions will conclude in July. Candidates are advised to keep track of all deadlines to avoid missing any admission-related activity.

Following the closure of the registration gateway, the final automated seat allotment process will begin. The JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allocation Result will be declared on June 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Selected candidates will then have to go through online reporting, complete document verification, and submit their seat acceptance fee by June 26, 2026. The seat acceptance fee has been fixed at ₹35,000 for General/OBC-NCL/EWS categories and ₹15,000 for SC/ST/PwD groups.

The state authority has released a structured calendar for the initial choice verification phase. Candidates have until June 11, 2026 (strictly till 5:00 PM) to lock in their final college choices.
