The Merit Cum Means (MCM) scholarship is aimed at supporting students from financially weaker backgrounds. It provides monthly financial assistance along with fee benefits.

- Applicable for undergraduate students
- Family income limit: up to INR 5,00,000
- Scholarship amount: minimum INR 1000 per month for 10 months
- Remaining tuition fee is refunded
The Senate Committee for Scholarships and Prizes (SCSP) verifies all applications before final selection.
IIT Roorkee James Thomason and INSPIRE SHE Scholarships
IIT Roorkee also offers merit-based and national-level scholarships for high-performing students. These scholarships recognise academic excellence and research potential.
Important scholarships include:
- James Thomason Scholarship: For candidates with AIR up to 250 in JEE Advanced 2026
- INSPIRE SHE Scholarship:
- For students in top 1% of Class 12 boards
- INR 60,000 annually (INR 5000 per month)
- Additional INR 20,000 summer research grant
Students receiving SHE must participate in research projects under recognised institutions.
