Haryana education officials have launched an inquiry into a suspected Class 12 pre-board question paper leak after a teacher flagged unusually high scores and similarities with online content. A YouTube channel is under scrutiny for allegedly matching 90% of pre-board questions. The board is examining the matter ahead of the main board exams.

Haryana Class 12 Pre-Board Paper Leak Probe After High Scores

A controversy has emerged in Haryana over the Class 12 pre-board examinations, with state education authorities looking into possible question paper leaks after a teacher raised concerns about abnormally high scores by students in recent tests

Teacher Raises Alarm Over Pre-Board Results and Online Matches

A chemistry teacher from Gurgaon reported a surprising trend during the ongoing Class 12 pre-board exams, held in late January and early February. Students she had taught for several years — traditionally moderate performers — achieved near-perfect marks on a chemistry paper that educators had expected to be challenging The teacher noted that nearly 80% of students correctly answered all multiple-choice questions in the chemistry pre-board, a result inconsistent with their typical performance levels. When probed further about concepts beyond the test paper, many students struggled to explain fundamentals, raising suspicion of unfair means.

YouTube Content Under Scrutiny for 90% Match

The educator identified a YouTube channel, widely followed by board exam aspirants, which had uploaded suggested questions shortly before the pre-boards. Large portions of the chemistry paper seemed to match the video content, the teacher said. She also alleged that other subjects — like English and physics papers — also showed high similarity to online material. In social media comments on the channel, some students claimed the uploaded questions were “the same as the real paper,” intensifying concerns about potential leaks.

Official Response and Ongoing Investigation

The Haryana Board of School Education has taken note of the allegations. The state’s education minister confirmed that the YouTube channel is being examined for possible links to the exam papers, and action will be taken if evidence of wrongdoing emerges. The board’s chairperson instructed the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and local education officials to verify the authenticity of the papers and coordinate with police if required. Officials have also reminded school authorities of strict exam security protocols

Context Ahead of Board Exams

The pre-board examinations in Haryana took place from 22 January to 5 February 2026, followed by practical tests. The official Haryana Class 12 board exams are scheduled to start from 25 February 2026. Pre-board tests are designed to mirror the main board exam pattern and help students prepare, but allegations of leaks can undermine trust in the system. Education authorities have reiterated their commitment to uphold exam integrity and are expected to share findings of the ongoing probe soon.
