The Haryana Board of School Education conducted the HBSE Class 12 English board exam 2026 today in the afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The English exam is a core subject for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams, making it crucial for students’ overall percentage.

 

HBSE Class 12 English Exam 2026 Paper Pattern

According to initial feedback, the question paper was divided into multiple sections, including:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Writing skills (letters, articles, reports, essays)
  • Literature-based questions from prose, poetry, and drama

The theory paper carried 80 marks, while 20 marks are reserved for internal assessment, taking the total to 100 marks. Students were given 3 hours to complete the paper.

 

HBSE Class 12 English Exam 2026 Difficulty Level

As per students’ reactions and early analysis, the overall difficulty level was easy to moderate. Most questions were directly based on the prescribed HBSE syllabus, which helped well-prepared students attempt the paper confidently.

  • Writing section was slightly time-consuming, especially long answers

While the board has not released an official difficulty assessment yet, students said the paper focused more on conceptual understanding and writing skills rather than rote memorisation. Those who practised sample papers and revised the syllabus found the exam manageable.
