GSEB SSC Improvement Exams 2026 Introduced With Best of Two Policy

Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has introduced a “Best of Two” policy for SSC Improvement Exams 2026. Eligible Class 10 students can appear in the June supplementary examination to improve marks. The board stated that over 32,000 students are eligible for improvement across one or more subjects after the declaration of SSC results on May 06, 2026.
Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced a new improvement opportunity for Class 10 students through the SSC Supplementary Examination 2026. The board will allow students to improve their marks under a “Best of Two” policy during the June examination session.
The decision has been introduced for students who either failed in one or more subjects or wish to improve their performance in the main SSC board examination. The Gujarat Board had declared the GSEB SSC Result 2026 on May 06, 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 83.86%.

What is GSEB SSC Improvement Exam 2026 Best of Two Policy?
Under the revised policy, students can appear for supplementary examinations in all subjects. The board will consider the higher score obtained between the main examination and the supplementary examination as the final result. Before applying for the supplementary examination, students should understand that earlier marks will not be cancelled under this system.

GSEB SSC 2026 Passing Marks and Eligibility Criteria
The board has clarified that students securing E1 or E2 grades in external examination subjects must reappear in future attempts to qualify for the SSC certificate. Before certification is issued, candidates must meet the minimum passing criteria in all subjects.
Minimum Passing Requirements for GSEB SSC 2026
- Students must secure at least Grade D
- Grade D corresponds to 33–40 marks
- Differently-abled candidates need only 20% marks to qualify
- Passing status will be granted only after meeting subject-wise eligibility criteria
The board stated that the supplementary examination is intended to support students who wish to strengthen their final result instead of feeling discouraged after the main examination.

Which subjects are covered under GSEB SSC Supplementary Exam 2026?
The improvement opportunity will cover language, academic and vocational subjects offered in the SSC curriculum. Before the application process begins, schools will issue separate circulars regarding registration and examination procedures.

The Gujarat Board stated that detailed instructions regarding the supplementary examination application process will be released shortly through schools. Eligible students will be able to register for the June session after schools receive official circulars from the board. The board has advised students to utilise the “Best of Two” system as an opportunity to improve academic performance and strengthen future educational prospects.
