In a swift response to allegations of a paper leak during the graduate-level recruitment examination held on September 21, 2025, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has decided to cancel the exam. The examination, which aimed to fill 416 government posts, saw over one lakh candidates participating. The leak reportedly involved three pages of the question paper from a centre in Haridwar, leading to widespread unrest among aspirants.
Massive Student Protests and Call for CBI Probe
The alleged paper leak sparked significant protests across Uttarakhand. Students, under the banner of the Uttarakhand Unemployed Union, gathered in large numbers, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry and the cancellation of the examination. The protests highlighted the frustration of thousands of aspirants who had invested considerable time and effort into preparing for the exam.
Government's Response and Future Plans
In response to the protests and allegations, the Uttarakhand government has recommended a CBI probe into the matter. Additionally, UKSSSC Chairman G S Martolia announced that the graduate-level examination would be rescheduled and held within the next three months.
