NBEMS Cancels NEET PG Results of 22 Candidates for Malpractice

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has annulled the NEET PG results of 22 candidates across multiple sessions from 2021 to 2025 due to allegations of malpractice. The decision was made following investigations by the NBEMS Examination Ethics Committee. Out of the 22 candidates, 13 appeared in the 2025 session, three in 2024, four in 2023, and one each in 2022 and 2021. The NBEMS has stated that producing the annulled scorecards or results for any purposes, including employment, enrollment, registration, or admission to postgraduate courses, is unlawful. The board also disclaims any responsibility or liability arising from admissions or placements based on the now-invalidated results.

Disqualification Following Court Ruling

One of the candidates, Srusti Bommanahalli Rajanna, was disqualified following the Karnataka High Court's ruling on Writ Petition No. 5785/2025. The remaining 21 candidates were found guilty of using unfair means during the examination process.

Implications for NEET PG 2025

The NEET PG 2025 examination saw participation from over 2.42 lakh candidates, with 1,28,116 qualifying for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs. Despite the results being declared, the counseling schedule remains pending due to ongoing legal proceedings, including a petition demanding the release of complete question papers and answer keys, raising concerns about the transparency of the examination process.
