The Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) has restricted invigilator swaps ahead of the 2026 SSC and HSC exams. Only centres without CCTV will have teacher exchanges. Class 12 exams start 10 February 2026, and class 10 exams begin 20 February 2026. Students must collect admit cards from their schools. Most centres already have CCTV; those without it must be equipped by next year.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has clarified invigilator swap policies for the upcoming SSC and HSC exams 2026. Earlier plans to rotate teachers across schools to prevent malpractice have been restricted. Now, exchanges will occur only at exam centres without CCTV surveillance, addressing logistical and supervision concerns.
Reason Behind Restricting Teacher Exchanges
Teachers and principals raised concerns over supervising exams at unfamiliar schools, long travel distances, and regular class schedules. Responding to these concerns, MSBSHSE limited the exchange system to CCTV-free centres.Tanaji Mane, chairman of the Maharashtra Principals' Association, said, “90–95 per cent of exam centres already have CCTV cameras. Remaining centres could not install them due to budget constraints but should be fully equipped by next year. Exchanging centres for a small number is unnecessary.”
Board Guidelines for CCTV-Free Centres
Board officials directed division heads to replace invigilators only at centres lacking CCTV. Planning and monitoring reports must be submitted for the February–March 2026 exams. Sensitive centres and five main subjects will receive close monitoring. Centres failing to install CCTV this year will not be allocated as exam centres next year. Funds have been allocated to district officers to maintain camera and drone surveillance data.
Maharashtra SSC & HSC Exam 2026 Dates
- HSC (Class 12): 10 February 2026 onwards
- SSC (Class 10): 20 February 2026 onwards
The admit cards for all students have been released and must be collected from respective schools. Candidates are advised to check the centre, shift, and reporting time carefully.
Key Takeaways
- Invigilator swaps limited to CCTV-free centres only
- Most exam centres already equipped with CCTV
- Sensitive subjects and centres to be closely monitored
- Admit cards already available for collection
- Proper planning and supervision reports required by division heads
This step aims to ensure smooth and secure conduct of Maharashtra SSC and HSC board exams 2026 without burdening teachers unnecessarily.
