The Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026 commenced with a 98.53% attendance rate, as over 8.16 lakh students appeared for the first language paper. The exam was conducted smoothly with strict security measures in place. The next paper, Science, is scheduled for 23 March 2026.

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has commenced the SSLC Examination 2026, recording an impressive 98.53% attendance on the first day. The first language paper saw participation from over 8.16 lakh students across the state.

 

Karnataka SSLC 2026 Attendance and Exam Overview

The SSLC (Class 10) exams began with strong participation from students across Karnataka. The key statistics from the first exam are as follows:

  • Students allotted hall tickets: 8,28,477
  • Students appeared: 8,16,302
  • Absent candidates: 12,175
  • Overall attendance: 98.53%

Among districts, Bengaluru Rural recorded the highest attendance at 99.18%, while Bengaluru North and South reported 98.72%, and Ramanagara recorded 98.43%.

 

Karnataka SSLC Subjects Covered and Next Exam Date

The first language exam included multiple language options to accommodate diverse student preferences. The subjects covered were:

  • Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi
  • Urdu, English, Hindi

The next paper in the SSLC schedule is the Science exam, which will be conducted on 23 March 2026.

 

Karnataka SSLC Security Measures and Exam Arrangements

Authorities ensured strict monitoring and security at all examination centres to maintain fairness. Key arrangements included:

  • Thorough checking of students for electronic devices such as smartphones, watches, and earphones
  • Deployment of police personnel at every exam centre
  • Continuous supervision to prevent malpractice

No incidents of cheating or disruption were reported during the examination.

 

Minister Inspects Karnataka SSLC Exam Centres

The School Education and Literacy Minister, Madhu Bangarappa, visited an exam centre at Karnataka Public School in Malleswaram, Bengaluru to review arrangements. During the visit, the minister interacted with students and encouraged them by offering flowers and wishing them success in their examinations.

 

Inspiring Stories from Karnataka SSLC Exam Centres

The first day of exams also highlighted inspiring stories of determination among students. One such case involved a student from Kolar who, despite suffering injuries in an accident and undergoing surgery, reached the exam centre in an ambulance and wrote the exam with medical support. In another instance, a student with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) in Mangaluru appeared for the exam without a scribe, demonstrating strong determination to complete all subjects independently. These examples reflect the resilience and commitment of students appearing for the SSLC exams this year. Students are advised to follow official guidelines and stay updated with the exam schedule for upcoming papers.
