JEE Main 2026 Form Correction, Steps to Fix Errors from Dec 1–2

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 registration closes today, November 25, at 5 PM. The National Testing Agency will allow candidates to correct errors in their application form between December 1 and December 2, 2025. Students must stay alert and follow official notifications for a smooth examination process.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will shut the registration window for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 this evening. Candidates who have not completed their form must fill it on the official website before the deadline. Many students, however, realise errors only after submitting the form. NTA has kept a short correction period to help them fix these issues on time.

Correction window for JEE Main 2026 form errors

NTA will activate the correction facility from December 1 to December 2, 2025. During this period, students can edit specific fields in the application form. The correction window is critical because errors in personal details, category information or documents can affect verification and admission stages later.

However, some fields cannot be changed at any point. These are important for identity verification and contact communication. Students must review every detail before the correction deadline ends.

Fields that cannot be changed:

  • Mobile number
  • Email ID
  • Aadhaar verification details (after validation)

NTA will publish a public notice before opening the correction window. Students must read the instructions carefully and make changes only through the official website.

What to do if Missed the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 deadline?

Those who miss today’s deadline can still appear for the exam through Session 2. NTA is expected to begin JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration in early January 2026. Fresh candidates can apply, and Session 1 candidates can reappear to improve their score.

Skipping Session 1 does not reduce the chance of admission. Many students prefer Session 2 because it aligns better with board exam preparation. The best score from the two sessions will be considered for admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and for JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility.

Students must keep documents like Aadhaar, Class 10 details, category certificates and photographs ready for Session 2 registration.
