Delhi University finalises polling arrangements for DUSU Polls 2025

Delhi University (DU) has finalised arrangements for the DUSU Polls 2025 after a review meeting chaired by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh. Key decisions include use of paper ballots at college level, EVMs for DUSU office-bearer posts, and security protocols.

 

DU Review Meeting Confirms Date and Voting Method for DUSU Polls 2025

A meeting at the Council Hall, Vice-Regal Lodge, reviewed preparations to ensure fair, transparent, uninterrupted polls. During the meeting:

  • The DUSU elections are scheduled for 18 September 2025, and vote counting will be held on 19 September 2025.
  • College-level polls will use paper ballots, while voting for DUSU office-bearer positions will be carried out using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
  • Delhi Police will provide security across all campuses and polling centres. College Principals, Heads of Departments, Deans, hostels wardens etc. were instructed to adhere strictly to guidelines.

Compliance, Oversight and Past Election Reference

University authorities reiterated enforcement of Lyngdoh Committee recommendations and official election guidelines with zero tolerance for violations. The Delhi High Court directed the university to ensure orderliness, prohibit misuse of vehicles or violations, and furnish a compliance affidavit by 15 September 2025. In the 2024 DUSU elections, NSUI had won the posts of President and Joint Secretary, and ABVP had retained the Secretary post while securing the Vice-President role.
