CMAT 2026 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme is expected to remain the same as the previous year. Candidates must carefully answer as incorrect responses will reduce the overall score.

  • +4 marks for each correct answer
  • –1 mark for each incorrect answer
  • 0 marks for unattempted questions

This means accuracy will play a key role in boosting performance in CMAT 2026.

Key Points for Candidates

  • The exam will be held online in a computer-based format.
  • Candidates will have 180 minutes to attempt all 100 questions.
  • The difficulty level generally ranges from moderate to high, with Quantitative Techniques and Logical Reasoning carrying significant weight.
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship, a relatively new section, continues to test managerial aptitude and creativity.

Preparation Strategy Aligned with CMAT 2026 Pattern

With clarity on the exam structure, aspirants can fine-tune their preparation plan:

  • Focus on basics: Strengthen fundamental concepts in quant and reasoning.
  • Mock practice: Solve online tests in a timed environment to adapt to the CBT format.
  • Reading habits: Improve comprehension and current affairs knowledge for language and GK sections.
  • Balanced approach: Allocate time equally across all five sections since each holds equal weight.
