GATE 2026 Registration Ends October 6; Late Fee Window Till October 9

IIT Guwahati will close the GATE 2026 application form with regular fees on October 6, 2025. Interested candidates must complete their registration on the official website — gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Authorities have clarified that no further extension will be provided for the registration deadline. The GATE 2026 exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 across various centres in India.

 

GATE 2026 Registration Dates & Fees

The GATE 2026 registration window will remain open till October 9, with a late fee of INR 500. Candidates can check the fee structure below:

How to Apply for GATE 2026?

Candidates can follow these steps to complete their registration before the deadline:

  1. Visit the official website – gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
  2. Click on the GOAPS 2026 portal link.
  3. Register and fill in the application form.
  4. Upload required documents (photo, signature, and valid ID proof).
  5. Pay the application fee and submit the form.

Applicants are advised to keep a copy of the filled form for future reference and ensure their registered email and phone number remain active.

 

GATE 2026 Correction Window

After registration closes, IIT Guwahati will open the application correction facility on November 6, 2025. Candidates can modify specific details using their enrollment ID and password through the GOAPS 2026 portal.

 

GATE 2026 Preparation Tips

With only a few months left, candidates should focus on high-weightage topics and previous year’s GATE papers. Practicing mock tests regularly will help improve speed and accuracy. Experts also recommend revising key formulas daily and maintaining a healthy study routine.

 

PSUs Accepting GATE 2026 Scores

Several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will use GATE 2026 scores for recruitment. As of now, NPCIL has announced hiring for Executive Trainee posts based on GATE 2026. Other major PSUs such as PowerGRID, AAI, and DRDO are also expected to follow.
