New Delhi, October 4, 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to release the NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule for MD and MS admissions by mid-October, according to an update shared by the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA). The association confirmed its communication with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) regarding the matter.
In a recent post on social media platform X, FAIMA stated, “As per our communication with MoHFW officials, NEET PG counselling is most likely to begin by mid-October. Further details awaited.” This announcement has provided relief to medical aspirants who have been waiting for several weeks due to ongoing legal proceedings.
NEET PG 2025 Counselling Delay and Court Case Updates
The delay in releasing the NEET PG counselling schedule stems from petitions filed before the Supreme Court by NEET PG aspirants and the United Doctors Front (UDF). These petitions challenge the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) over its decision to restrict the disclosure of exam-related data.
Initially, NBEMS had stated that it would release answer keys, response sheets, and question papers. However, a later clarification limited disclosure to question IDs and answer keys only, which led to strong objections from candidates.
Petitioners argue that this approach compromises transparency, as it prevents them from cross-verifying answers or raising valid challenges. The Supreme Court has now directed NBEMS to submit a detailed reply within two weeks, after which the matter will be reviewed again.
