CBSE Postpones 5–6 March 2026 Exams in Middle East for Class 10 and Class 12 students studying in select overseas centres. The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the decision after reviewing the prevailing situation in parts of the region. Revised examination dates will be notified later.
CBSE Board Exam 2026 Postponement Details
The postponement applies to examinations scheduled on 5 March 2026 and 6 March 2026. The affected countries include:
- Bahrain
- Iran
- Kuwait
- Oman
- Qatar
- Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
In its official communication to principals of CBSE-affiliated schools, the Board stated that the decision was taken after a critical assessment of the current circumstances in the region. The new dates for the postponed examinations will be announced separately.
CBSE has also indicated that it will review the situation again on 5 March 2026 and take an appropriate decision regarding examinations scheduled from 7 March 2026 onwards. A fresh notice is expected after further evaluation.
Earlier Postponement and Official Clarification
Earlier, on 1 March 2026, CBSE had postponed examinations scheduled on 2 March 2026 and 3 March 2026 in the same Middle East countries, citing security concerns. The Board had then stated that it would reassess the situation before deciding on subsequent papers. The latest review has resulted in the postponement of the 5 and 6 March examinations as well.
The Board clarified that the decision is limited to the Middle East region and does not affect examinations being conducted in India or other countries.
CBSE also addressed reports regarding a fake circular circulating on social media that falsely claimed complete cancellation of examinations due to “extraordinary global circumstances.” The Board termed the notice fabricated and urged students and schools to rely only on official communications.
The circular regarding postponement was marked to Indian ambassadors in the affected countries, the Consul General of India in Dubai, and the CBSE regional office in the UAE. Students have been advised to stay in regular contact with their respective schools and monitor official updates for further announcements regarding revised exam dates.
