CBSE going to discard the re-evaluation process for class XII

The Central Board of Secondary Education is on its way to deciding to discard the process of re-evaluation from the next year. The decision was made during the body meeting of the Board’s Governing that was held in June.

The CBSE Chairman, Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi, said that the decision was made by looking at the increase in the number of cases of re-evaluation.

The chairman also said that around 1.8% of total students appearing for the board exams have requested the re-evaluation, which is a huge number for the CBSE officials to handle due to the lack of resources. And the percentage of the students who benefit from the re-evaluation process is quite low.

The facility of re-evaluation of the CBSE Board Exam is available for only 12 subjects out of the 187-subject list, which is unfair for most of the students. All these reasons play a major role in making the decision related to the re-evaluation process.

The CBSE Board officials have stated that they are not completing the closing of the facility for re-evaluation for the Board Exam students. The students who want to file for the re-evaluation have to file an application with the regional office, and the further committee will look into the matter.
