Tamil Nadu Education Event 2025: Rs 1,000 Aid for College Students

The Tamil Nadu Excels in Education event was held today, 25 September 2025, to highlight the state’s achievements in the education sector. These initiatives aim to enhance education access, encourage academic and sports excellence, and provide inclusive support for students with special needs. Key schemes presented include:

• Naan Mudhalvan – Career guidance and skill development for students.
• Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme – Provision of nutritious meals to students across schools.
• Pudhumai Penn – Financial aid for female students pursuing higher education.
• Tamil Pudhalvan – Financial assistance for male students pursuing higher education.
• Kalaignar Sports Kit Scheme – Support for sports equipment to encourage participation in athletics.
• Mission International Medal Scheme (MIMS) – Recognition and support for outstanding performance in sports.
• Schemes for Children with Special Needs – Inclusive educational initiatives ensuring accessibility for all students.

Expansion of Financial Aid for College Students

A key announcement during the event was the expansion of the Pudhumai Penn and Tamil Pudhalvan schemes, which will provide a monthly financial assistance of INR one thousand to more than two lakh fifty-seven thousand college students for the academic year 2025–26. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers and support students’ academic progression.
