The National Testing Agency has opened the NEET UG 2026 city preference update facility for candidates appearing in the re-examination scheduled on June 21, 2026. Candidates can update their present address and preferred examination cities till May 21, 2026, through the official website.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a new public notice regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-exam scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Along with confirming the examination schedule, the agency has also opened the facility for candidates to update their present address and examination city preferences. The online update window has been activated from May 15 to May 21, 2026, on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.

NTA has confirmed that the re-examination will be conducted in offline mode across multiple centres in India. The examination will be held in 13 languages. Before checking the city preference details, candidates can review the important examination schedule below.

NTA clarified that the examination duration includes additional time required for examination formalities at the centre.
Re NEET Exam 2026 City Preference Update Facility Open
The agency has allowed candidates to update only their present address and preferred examination cities through the online portal. No other correction facility has been provided under the current notice. Before submitting the updated details, candidates should carefully review the following instructions.
- Candidates can select first and second preferred examination cities
- Existing city choice will remain unchanged for those not updating details
- No fee will be charged for this facility
- No correction in other application particulars will be allowed
- Requests submitted after May 21, 2026 will not be accepted
The city preference update facility will remain active till 11:50 PM on May 21, 2026.

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam After Cancellation of Earlier Test
The revised examination schedule was announced after the cancellation of the earlier NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 03, 2026. The cancellation followed allegations related to a nationwide question paper leak and irregularities.
The controversy affected more than 22 lakh medical aspirants across the country and delayed the admission process for undergraduate medical courses. NTA has stated that the re-examination will be conducted under enhanced security and operational arrangements to maintain fairness and transparency in the admission process.
