The National Medical Commission (NMC) has revised the seat matrix for MBBS and BDS admissions across India for the academic year 2025–26. A total of 11,350 new seats have been added, bringing the overall count, including AIIMS and JIPMER, to 1,28,875 seats.
The earlier version of the seat matrix had listed 1,28,925 seats, but the latest revision shows a reduction of 50 seats. During the update process, 456 seats were removed due to typographical errors in the previous data.

NEET UG 2025 Stray Round: Key Details
Candidates who were not allotted a seat in the earlier rounds of NEET UG 2025 counselling are eligible for the stray round. Key points include:
- Registration Start Date: November 4, 2025
- Participating colleges will release the tentative seat matrix on the same day.
- Selected candidates must report to their allotted college with all original documents for admission confirmation.
- Failure to join during the stray round will lead to disqualification for one year and forfeiture of counselling fees.
