NIMCET 2026 Syllabus Revised: Key Updates for MCA Entrance Exam

The National Institute of Technology (NITs) has revised the NIMCET syllabus 2026 for aspirants seeking admission to MCA programs. The updated syllabus introduces clearer guidelines and additional topics to help candidates prepare in a structured manner for the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test 2026.

 

NIMCET 2026 Revised Syllabus Highlights

The updated NIMCET 2026 syllabus includes changes across Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English. The details are as follows:

 

Mathematics

  • The topic Vectors has been removed from the syllabus.

 

Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning

The previous syllabus broadly mentioned logical situations and questions based on given facts. The revised syllabus now specifies:

  • Reasoning: Verbal, Non-verbal, Deductive, Inductive reasoning, including blood relations, coding-decoding, direction test, seating arrangement, puzzles, input-output, syllogism, alphanumeric series, mirror images, and statements & conclusions.
  • Problem-solving & Critical Thinking
  • Data Interpretation: Numerical reasoning, data sufficiency, and data visualisation

 

Computer Awareness

The Computer Awareness section has been expanded with additional topics:

  • Computer Hardware: Input devices, output devices, storage devices, and memory
  • Computer Software: Operating systems, system software, and application software
  • Internet & Email: Web browsing, email usage, and online security

 

General English

The General English section emphasises overall accuracy and fluency in English expressions required for technical education. The revised NIMCET syllabus 2026 provides clearer guidance, particularly in the reasoning and computer awareness sections, enabling candidates to prepare more effectively for the competitive examination.
