NBEMS Launches Free Online AI in Medical Education Programme for PG Doctors and Faculty as the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced its launch on 31 December 2025. The free online programme is scheduled to begin January 2026 and is designed to help postgraduate doctors, medical faculty, trainees and other registered professionals understand and apply artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical, educational and health systems contexts. This initiative supports medical professionals in strengthening their skills in evaluating and responsibly integrating AI tools without requiring prior technical or programming experience.

The NBEMS online programme focuses on the role of artificial intelligence in medical practice and education. It will feature LIVE online sessions spread over 20 modules across a six‑month duration, beginning in January 2026. The sessions are structured to emphasise clinical applicability, ethical considerations, patient safety, and accountability. The programme serves as a professional development opportunity for medical professionals seeking to incorporate AI insights into clinical decision‑making and educational frameworks.

Who Can Apply for the Free AI Programme?

The programme is open to a wide range of medical professionals associated with NBEMS and beyond. Eligible participants include:

• NBEMS ongoing trainees
• NBEMS alumni who qualified from the 2020 session onwards
• Faculty of NBEMS‑accredited departments
• Other registered medical professionals interested in AI applications in healthcare and medical education

No technical or programming background is required, making the programme accessible to a broad range of medical practitioners.

Course Delivery and Attendance Requirements

The online programme will be conducted entirely through LIVE sessions hosted on the official NBEMS portal. Participants must attend at least 75 percent of the LIVE sessions, with attendance recorded at both the start and end of classes. Only those who meet this attendance threshold and successfully complete the online assessment will be eligible for a digital course completion certificate. To join a live class, participants will use the “Join the Class” link displayed on the NBEMS website, which becomes active 30 minutes before the scheduled session and remains available for 30 minutes after its start time.
