The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has booked a school invigilator after a photograph of the Class 10 English question paper was shared on WhatsApp during the examination on 17 February 2026 in Burhanpur district. Authorities are investigating whether this case amounts to a paper leak.
MP Board Exam Day Incident: Question Paper Photo Shared on WhatsApp
During the board exam at a government school in Tukaithad, an invigilator identified as Rajkumari Soni allegedly took a photo of the English question paper and uploaded it to her WhatsApp status at around 9:06 am, shortly after the exam started. At that time, over 100 students were already inside the examination hall. Officials claim the image was posted after the exam commenced, and maintain there was no confirmed traditional “leak” of the question paper before test start time.
MP Board Exam Suspension and FIR Under Examination Laws
Following the incident, the district administration suspended the invigilator, along with the examination centre superintendent and assistant superintendent for alleged negligence of duty. A formal FIR has been registered under the Madhya Pradesh Recognised Examination Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
MP Board Exam: Probe Into Leak Allegations and Security Measures
Investigators are now reviewing whether the WhatsApp post facilitated dishonest behaviour among students and whether it violated MPBSE’s strict confidentiality protocols. The board has strengthened exam security in recent years to counter misinformation and fraudulent claims about paper leaks.
MP Board Exam Integrity in Focus
Allegations of question paper leaks can cause significant concern among students and families during board examinations. However, officials emphasise that sharing an image after the exam start time is distinct from a pre-exam leak and that stronger monitoring mechanisms are in place across board exam centres. Students and parents are advised to rely on official MPBSE notices for updates on exams and to report suspicious activities through appropriate administrative channels.
