MCC has directed all state counselling authorities to exclude candidates who have already joined AIQ Round 3 seats before state Round 3 allotment in NEET UG 2025. The list will be available from November 1, 2025, and counselling must be completed by November 3, 2025.

MCC Directs States to Exclude Joined AIQ Candidates Before Round 3

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a directive to all state counselling authorities for NEET UG 2025. States are instructed to exclude candidates who have already joined seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) Round 3 before processing state counselling Round 3 allotments.

This move aims to prevent candidates from holding dual seats and follows the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Contempt Petition (C) No. 289 of 2022 in W.P. No. 223 of 2022 (Shubhankar Patnaik vs. K. Ramesh Reddy & Ors.).

MCC Clarifies State Counselling Guidelines for AIQ Candidates

The official notice stated that filtering out AIQ-joined candidates is mandatory as per the Supreme Court directions. The MCC highlighted the following points:

  • The Round 3 NEET UG 2025 result has already been published.
  • There is no provision for resignation in this round.
  • States must ensure that candidates already holding AIQ Round 3 seats are not allotted seats again through state counselling.

Additionally, the MCC informed that state counselling authorities can download the list of joined candidates from its data-sharing portal starting November 1, 2025.

Revised Schedule for NEET UG 2025 State Counselling Round 3

The NEET UG 2025 state counselling Round 3 will follow the revised schedule as below:

  • Counselling for Round 3: Till November 3, 2025
  • Last date of joining for allotted candidates:November 8, 2025
  • Data verification by state authorities:November 9, 2025

States are advised to strictly follow these timelines to ensure smooth allotment and avoid discrepancies in the counselling process.

Importance of MCC Directive

This directive ensures fair and transparent seat allocation in NEET UG 2025. By excluding candidates who have already joined AIQ seats, states can:

  • Prevent dual seat allotments
  • Maintain accuracy in seat allocation
  • Avoid legal or administrative issues during the counselling process

Candidates are advised to check state counselling portals regularly for further updates and follow all official instructions carefully.
