The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to keep the JEE Main 2026 syllabus largely unchanged from the previous year. The current syllabus already aligns with the updated NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks introduced under the National Education Policy 2020. Any future reduction or modification is expected to be minor and focused on overlapping chapters. As per early updates, the examination will continue to assess three core subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — each carrying equal marks. The JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessions, tentatively in January and April 2026.
JEE Main 2026 exam pattern
The examination pattern for JEE Main 2026 is also expected to remain the same. Each paper will include objective-type questions designed to test conceptual understanding and analytical ability.
The marking scheme will remain consistent — four marks for each correct answer and one mark deducted for every wrong attempt.
