The Maharashtra SSC Board Exams 2026 are underway with students appearing for various subjects according to the official timetable laid out by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE). The Class 10 English board exam is scheduled for 27 February 2026 in the morning shift (11 am to 2 pm).
Maharashtra SSC Board 2026: English Exam Pattern & Structure
The English paper is designed to test a wide range of language skills, combining textual comprehension, grammar and writing abilities. Its overall structure includes:
- Reading Skills (Textual): 20 marks
- Reading Skills (Non-Textual): 20 marks
- Grammar: 15 marks
- Writing Skills: 25 marks
- Internal/Oral Assessment: 20 marks
The total paper is worth 100 marks, incorporating both written and internal assessment components. This multi-section format aims to evaluate reading comprehension, expression and written communication competencies among Class 10 students.
Maharashtra SSC Board 2026 Hall Ticket & Exam Logistics
Students must have their Maharashtra SSC 2026 hall ticket to enter the examination centre, which can be downloaded from the board’s official website at mahahsscboard.in. This document contains crucial details such as the exam centre address, roll number, exam date and timing.
Maharashtra SSC Board 2026 Passing Marks & Grace Marks Provision
To qualify the Maharashtra SSC board exam, students are required to score a minimum of 35% marks in each subject and overall. The board also provides grace marks in certain cases — typically two or three marks — to help borderline candidates pass if they fall just short of the passing criteria in one or more subjects.
Maharashtra SSC Board 2026 Answer Key & Performance Estimation
The MSBSHSE does not release an official board answer key for SSC subjects, including English. However, unofficial answer keys are expected to be released by coaching institutions and online portals shortly after the exam concludes. These unofficial keys allow students to estimate probable scores by comparing their written responses against suggested solutions and understanding likely performance ahead of the official Maharashtra SSC result — usually declared in May 2026.
Maharashtra SSC Board 2026: Student Participation & Scale
The board exam sees participation from over 16 lakh students across Maharashtra, with more than 23,600 schools and over 5,100 exam centres engaged in conducting the SSC 2026 assessments.
