The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has declared the KCET 2026 mock seat allotment results for candidates participating in the UGCET counselling process. Aspirants can review their tentative allotment and modify their college and course preferences until July 09, 2026, at 10:00 AM, before the first round of actual seat allotment.
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the KCET 2026 Mock Seat Allotment results for candidates participating in the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET) counselling process. The mock allotment provides applicants with an opportunity to understand their probable admission status based on the choices submitted during option entry and their merit position. Following the release of the mock allotment, KEA has activated the option modification window, allowing candidates to revise, add, remove or reorder their preferred colleges and courses. The editing facility will remain available until July 09, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Candidates are advised to use this period carefully, as the preferences locked after the deadline will be considered for the first round of actual seat allotment.
KCET Mock Seat Allotment 2026: Important Dates and Counselling Schedule
The mock allotment is intended to help candidates evaluate their admission prospects before the final counselling process begins. KEA has also released the key counselling dates that applicants should keep in mind while participating in the ongoing admission process.
What does the KCET Mock Seat Allotment Mean for Candidates?
The mock allotment is only a provisional exercise conducted to help candidates assess the colleges and programmes they are likely to receive based on current preferences and available seats. It does not confirm admission and should not be treated as the final allotment. Candidates who have received a mock allotment should carefully review the allotted college and branch. If they wish to improve their chances of securing a preferred institute or programme, they can modify the order of choices during the option editing period. Similarly, applicants who did not receive any allotment in the mock round should consider adding more eligible colleges and course options to increase their chances during the actual seat allocation process.
KEA Issues Important Guidelines for KCET Counselling
Along with the mock allotment results, KEA has issued several instructions for counselling participants. The authority has clarified that no candidate should report to an allotted institution based on the mock allotment, as admissions will only be granted after the declaration of the actual Round 1 seat allotment. KEA has also stated that only candidates whose ranks were processed on or before June 29, 2026, have been considered for the mock allotment. Any ranks assigned after this date will be included during the first round of final seat allocation. Candidates who did not complete option entry earlier but are eligible to participate can still register by paying the prescribed non-refundable fee of INR 750. The authority has advised such applicants to complete the process before the option modification window closes.
What Happens After the Option Modification Window Closes?
Once the option editing facility closes on July 09, 2026, KEA will process all revised preferences submitted by candidates and prepare the database for the first round of actual counselling. The KCET 2026 Round 1 seat allotment is scheduled to be announced on July 15, 2026. Candidates are advised to review their preferences thoroughly before locking their options and to keep a printed copy of the final choice list for future reference during document verification and admission reporting. Regularly checking the official KEA counselling portal for notifications regarding seat allotment, reporting schedules and admission guidelines is also recommended to avoid missing any important updates.
