KCET 2026 Aadhaar Verification Explained; Steps and Key Dates

KEA has introduced mandatory Aadhaar-based authentication for KCET 2026 applicants to prevent duplication and ensure data accuracy. Candidates must complete Aadhaar e-KYC during registration, with applications open till 17 February 2026.
The KCET 2026 notification has introduced a key change in the application process with the implementation of mandatory Aadhaar-based authentication. The update has been announced by the Karnataka Examinations Authority to strengthen candidate verification and improve transparency in the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. All applicants are now required to complete Aadhaar verification while submitting the KCET 2026 application form.
What Is Aadhaar Authentication in KCET 2026?
Aadhaar authentication is an identity verification process carried out through the database of the Unique Identification Authority of India. For KCET 2026, this process is being used to:
- Prevent proxy candidates
- Avoid duplicate or multiple registrations
- Ensure accuracy of personal data
During registration, the candidate’s name and date of birth must exactly match the details mentioned on the Aadhaar card. Aadhaar must also be linked to an active mobile number to receive the One-Time Password (OTP). Candidates facing mismatches between Aadhaar details and their SSLC marks card have been advised to get corrections done at an authorised Aadhaar Seva Kendra to avoid rejection of the application.
How to Do KCET 2026 Aadhaar Verification?
The Aadhaar authentication process is integrated into the KCET 2026 online application. Candidates must complete the following steps:
- Visit the official KEA portal and select UGCET 2026 Online Application
- Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number in the e-KYC section
- Choose the OTP-based verification option
- Enter the OTP received on the Aadhaar-linked mobile number
- After successful authentication, proceed to fill academic details
- Upload scanned documents in the prescribed format
Only after Aadhaar verification will candidates be allowed to complete the application process.
KCET 2026 Application and Exam Schedule
The KCET 2026 application form was released on 16 January 2026. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can submit their forms within the given timeline. Key dates to note:
- Last date to apply: 17 February 2026
- Kannada Language Test: 22 April 2026
- Physics and Chemistry exam: 23 April 2026
- Mathematics and Biology exam: 24 April 2026
Important Instructions for Candidates
Applicants are advised to verify Aadhaar details well in advance and ensure mobile number linkage before starting the KCET registration. Any discrepancy in identity information may lead to application rejection. Candidates should regularly monitor official KEA updates for information related to admit cards, exam centres, and further admission procedures related to KCET 2026.
