The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has opened applications for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ Recruitment 2026 under Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:03(EMC):2026. The recruitment is for candidates with BE/BTech or equivalent degrees in Electronics, Mechanical and Computer Science Engineering.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must have the required engineering qualification with the prescribed marks.

  • Electronics: BE/BTech or equivalent in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • Mechanical: BE/BTech or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Computer Science: BE/BTech or equivalent in Computer Science Engineering.
  • Candidates must have secured at least 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84/10.
  • The graduation degree must have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course.
  • Candidates must be Indian nationals.
  • Candidates should check the notification for acceptable allied disciplines before applying.

 

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Age Limit 2026

The maximum age limit is 28 years as on September 16, 2026.

 

Age relaxation is applicable to eligible serving Central Government civilian employees, ex-servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per Government of India rules.

 

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Application Fee 2026

Candidates should note that the recruitment involves both an application fee and an initial processing fee.

  • Application fee: INR 250
  • Processing fee paid initially: INR 750
  • Women, SC/ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates are eligible for exemption from the application fee.
  • Eligible candidates who appear for the written test can receive a refund of the processing fee according to the notification.
  • For candidates who pay the application fee, INR 500 is refundable after deduction of the INR 250 application fee.
  • Candidates exempted from the application fee can receive the processing fee refund in full, subject to the conditions.

 

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Selection Process 2026

The selection process includes a written test/Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an interview.

 

Written Test

  • Part A: Discipline-specific questions
  • 80 MCQs
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Marks: 80
  • Correct answer: +1
  • Wrong answer: -1/3

Part B is an aptitude/ability test with a maximum of 15 questions and 20 marks. It covers numerical, logical, diagrammatic, abstract and deductive reasoning. There is no negative marking in Part B.

 

The written test will be conducted across multiple cities, including Gurugram, Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Patna, Pune and Lucknow, among others.

 

Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on written-test performance. The final panel will give 50% weightage to the written test and 50% to the interview.

 

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix.

  • Minimum basic pay: INR 56,100 per month
  • Dearness Allowance (DA)
