IIT Roorkee, Masai Launch AI, Data Science and Prompt Engineering

IIT Roorkee’s E&ICT Academy has signed an MoU with Masai to offer online certification programmes in AI-driven technology domains. The courses aim to upskill students and working professionals through practical, industry-oriented learning.
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has partnered with Masai to jointly launch a set of online certification programmes focused on emerging artificial intelligence and digital technology skills. The collaboration has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two institutions. The initiative will be led by the E&ICT Academy IIT Roorkee, which aims to address the growing demand for industry-ready professionals in AI-driven domains.
AI and Technology-Focused Certification Programmes
Under this partnership, the E&ICT Academy will deliver application-oriented training in several high-demand technology areas. The certification programmes will cover:
- Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI)
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML)
- Software Engineering with Artificial Intelligence
- Prompt Engineering
These programmes have been designed to cater to entry-level learners, working professionals, and candidates from non-technical backgrounds, offering structured learning through live instructor-led sessions and hands-on project work.
Industry-Relevant Learning and Workforce Readiness
The courses focus on equipping learners with practical skills required to solve real-world technology challenges. According to the E&ICT Academy, the curriculum aligns with current industry requirements and India’s future workforce needs in priority digital and AI sectors. The blended learning model combines theoretical understanding with real-time applications, enabling participants to build job-ready competencies in fast-evolving technology fields.

Commenting on the collaboration, the Chief Investigator of the E&ICT Academy at IIT Roorkee stated that the digital ecosystem increasingly requires professionals who can effectively apply AI, machine learning, and software development skills in real-world scenarios. The newly launched programmes are structured to bridge this skills gap. The leadership at Masai highlighted that the partnership brings together academic expertise and practical learning. The initiative is expected to help learners develop strong portfolios and enhance employability in an AI-driven job market.
Certification and Campus Immersion Opportunity
Participants who successfully complete the coursework and assessments will receive a certificate from the E&ICT Academy, IIT Roorkee. In addition to online learning, learners will also have the option to attend a two- to three-day campus immersion programme at IIT Roorkee. The campus immersion will include project presentations, interactive sessions, and formal certificate and grade sheet distribution, providing learners with valuable academic exposure.
