Goa SSC Exam Guidelines 2026 Released, Exams from 13 March

The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has released the Goa SSC exam guidelines 2026 for students appearing in the upcoming board examinations. As per the official notification, the Goa SSC exam 2026 will be conducted from 13 March 2026 to 9 April 2026. Students can check the detailed guidelines on the official website gbshse.in.

Goa SSC Exam 2026 Subject Scheme and Rules

The board has clearly stated that all candidates, including repeater candidates, must follow the subject list prescribed for the academic year 2025–2026. The subject structure will be applicable as per Circular No. 66 dated 10 October 2025.

The board has also confirmed that the Scheme of the 7th Subject has been discontinued. The current subject scheme notified through Circular No. 61 dated 01 October 2025 will continue for the SSC examination. Students must strictly adhere to this revised structure while appearing for the exams.

Skill-Based Subjects and Examination Pattern

To avail the benefits under the compensation scheme, students are required to appear for four skill-based subjects, including both theory and practical components.

The board has clarified the examination responsibilities for these subjects. The theory papers for Physical Education and NSQF subjects will be conducted directly by the Goa Board. However, the practical examinations must be completed at the last school attended by the student.

For IDA and Art Education, both theory and practical components must also be completed through the last attended school to remain eligible for compensation benefits.

Goa SSC 2026 Compensation Scheme Guidelines

The Goa Board has issued clear criteria to avail the compensation scheme in a maximum of two subjects. A student must secure at least 10% marks in the external theory component and the Board-conducted practical component, wherever applicable.

The minimum marks required are as follows.

  • External theory of 80 marks: minimum 08 marks
  • External theory of 70 marks: minimum 07 marks
  • Board practical of 20 marks: minimum 02 marks

These conditions are also applicable to sportsperson candidates.

However, the board has stated that the requirement of securing 10% minimum marks in external components will not apply to skill-based subjects or school-based assessment subjects.

School Assessment and Grade Submission

Grades obtained in school assessment subjects must be forwarded to the board by the respective schools. Students are advised to ensure that all internal assessments and practical records are completed accurately to avoid issues during result processing.

Important Advisory for Students

Students appearing for the Goa SSC exam 2026 should carefully read and follow all guidelines issued by the board. Any deviation from the prescribed subject scheme or examination rules may result in loss of compensation benefits. Further updates related to admit cards, exam centres, and result declaration will be notified by the Goa Board through official circulars only.
