GATE 2026 IIT MTech admission registration has started at several Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science ahead of the GATE 2026 result scheduled on 19 March 2026. Based on previous admission cycles, GATE 2026 COAP counselling is expected to begin in the second or third week of May 2026. The counselling process generally takes place in 10 rounds, depending on seat availability and candidate preferences.
The GATE 2026 scorecard will be available for download from 27 March 2026, and the score will remain valid for three years for admission purposes. For many IIT programmes, a score range of 700–800 marks is often considered competitive for general category candidates, although the required score may vary depending on the discipline and institute.
