IIT Guwahati MTech Admission 2026 Entry Requirements and Criteria
The department has set specific rules regarding past academic performance and professional backgrounds for all incoming students. Candidates do not need a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering score to qualify for selection list processing. Instead, the institute will create a fresh merit list based on separate departmental tests and face-to-face evaluation rounds.
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum conditions to clear the primary eligibility cut-off:
- Qualifying degree: A four-year graduation degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or closely related technical streams.
- Minimum marks requirement: Candidates need at least 60 per cent marks or a minimum Cumulative Performance Index of 6.0 on a 10-point evaluation scale.
- Work experience mandatory: A minimum of one year of professional employment inside the water resources or environmental management sector is required.
