The Delhi Government will provide free coaching to 2,200 meritorious government school students for major entrance exams including JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET-UG. The support will be offered under the Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Vidya Shakti Mission, Education Minister Ashish Sood announced.
The mission focuses on academic empowerment, emotional well-being and building future-ready schools across Delhi. Students selected for this initiative will receive structured coaching, study materials and regular test support through empanelled coaching institutes. The programme has been described as an important step toward improving opportunities for government school students.
Key Features of the Vidya Shakti Mission
The scheme was announced earlier in the state budget and has a total allocation of INR 21 crore. The government aims to help talented students prepare professionally for engineering, medical, law and other national-level entrance exams.
Important highlights include:
- Free coaching for JEE, NEET, CLAT, CA Foundation and CUET-UG
- 2,200 seats for government school students
- 50 seats reserved for girls in JEE, NEET, CLAT and CA Foundation
- 1,000 CUET-UG seats, with 150 reserved for female students
- Empanelled coaching partners include Aakash Institute, Narayana Academy, KD Campus and Ravindra Institute
Students will attend classroom coaching, live sessions and weekend support classes to strengthen their exam preparation.
Focus on Equal Opportunity and Well-Being
According to the Education Minister, this initiative marks a significant shift in public education. He shared that 62,000 students appeared for CET-2025 held on October 30. The counselling process is complete and physical classes began on November 26, 2025.
He stressed that education must go beyond academics. Emotional safety, dignity and mental wellness are central to the mission. The government also plans to set up AI-enabled classrooms and develop a human-centred learning system to ensure fair opportunities for every child.
A Merit-Based Selection System
The Vidya Shakti Mission promotes merit-based growth while supporting students from all backgrounds. It aims to help students pursue competitive courses and enhance their future prospects through quality coaching and structured learning support.
By opening up pathways to national-level exams, the programme is expected to strengthen Delhi’s academic foundation and create more opportunities at the grassroots level.
