CTET 2026 Feb 7, 2026 Updates: Shift 1 Over, Paper 1 Afternoon Exam Begins

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 is being conducted on 7 February 2026 by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Day 1 examination is scheduled across two shifts. The morning shift, held from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, has concluded, while the afternoon shift for Paper 1 began at 2:30 PM and will continue until 5:00 PM. Candidates appearing in the second shift were advised to report to their allotted exam centres well in advance to complete verification and security checks smoothly.

 

CTET 2026 Feb 7 Shift-Wise Exam Schedule

The CTET February 2026 session is being conducted over two days, with Paper 1 and Paper 2 scheduled in separate shifts each day. On Day 1 (7 February 2026), the examination is being conducted as per the following schedule.

 

7 February 2026

  • Paper 2 – Morning Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Paper 1 – Afternoon Shift: 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM

The Paper 1 afternoon shift has officially started at 2:30 PM, and candidates are currently taking the exam at centres across the country. The same shift pattern will be followed on 8 February 2026, with Paper 2 scheduled in the morning session and Paper 1 in the afternoon session for the remaining candidates.

 

CTET 2026 Feb 7 Paper 2 Exam Analysis Update

After the conclusion of the morning shift, initial feedback from candidates indicated that CTET 2026 Paper 2 was easy to moderate in overall difficulty. Several questions were reported to be concept-based and aligned with the prescribed syllabus. A detailed section-wise analysis, including topics asked and student reactions, will be updated based on wider feedback received from candidates.

 

CTET 2026 Admit Card and Entry Requirements

Candidates appearing for the CTET 2026 examination must carry mandatory documents to the exam centre. Entry is strictly regulated as per the instructions mentioned on the admit card.

Candidates without a valid admit card are not permitted to appear for the examination under any circumstances.

 

CTET 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and study material are prohibited

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 is being conducted today, 7 February 2026, by CBSE. After the successful completion of the morning shift, the afternoon shift (Shift 2) for Paper 1 has started at 2:30 PM and will continue until 5:00 PM. Overall, candidates found the section straightforward and scoring, with emphasis on reading comprehension and applied grammar rather than tricky rules.
