CBSE Warns Against Fake Paper Leak Claims During Board Exams 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an official advisory cautioning students, parents, and schools against the circulation of fake news and rumours related to question paper leaks during the ongoing CBSE Board Exams 2026. The board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 are currently underway across India. CBSE stated that during previous examination cycles, certain unscrupulous elements attempted to mislead candidates by spreading unverified information on social media platforms, particularly false claims about question paper leaks.

Fake Paper Leak Claims Cause Anxiety

In its advisory, CBSE warned that believing in or sharing baseless content related to exam papers can create unnecessary panic and confusion among students at a crucial stage of their academic journey.

“Engaging with or forwarding such misinformation may adversely affect the preparedness and mental well-being of students,” the board noted, urging all stakeholders to remain vigilant and rely only on verified sources for updates.

Board Assures Fair and Secure Exams

CBSE reassured students and parents that robust arrangements and strict security measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth, secure, and fair conduct of the board examinations, in line with practices followed in previous years. The board emphasised that the examination process is being closely monitored to maintain transparency and integrity.

Strict Action Against Misinformation

The advisory further stated that any attempt to spread misinformation or disrupt the examination process will be dealt with strictly as per applicable rules and regulations. CBSE reiterated that spreading fake news related to board exams is a serious offence and may invite disciplinary action.

Follow Official Channels Only

For authentic information, clarifications, and official updates, CBSE has advised students, parents, and schools to rely only on official communication channels, including the board’s website (cbse.gov.in) or by contacting the concerned CBSE regional office or headquarters in New Delhi. The board urged candidates to stay focused on their preparation and avoid distractions caused by unverified information circulating online.
